محمد،11 سنة، مدرسة ابن الخطيب الابتدائية
محمد يعاني من ضعف بصري شديد و هو ايضا طفل خجول جدا و أنطوائي. وهذين الأمرين أثرا على أدائه الأكاديمي في مدرسة عادية لم تأخذ الرعاية الخاصة التي يحتاجها بنظر الأعتبار. ولكنه عندما أنضم الى مدرسة ابن الخطيب الأبتدائية التي كانت قد بدأت بتنفيذ برنامج التعليم الشمولي تمكن محمد من الأزدهار. و لم يتوقف تحسنه على أدائه الأكاديمي بل أستغل أساتذته حبه للقصائد البسيطة لمساعدته على التغلب على الخجل من خلال تشجيعه على قراءة قصائده المفضلة أمام زملائه في الصف. محمد اليوم أكثر ثقة بنفسه ويخبر الكل بسعادة بانه سيفتتح احتفالات اليوم العالمي للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة في مدرسته بكلمة و قصيدة يلقيها بنفسه.
Mohammed, 11, Ibn Al-Khateeb Primary School
Mohammed suffers from very poor eyesight and is introverted, which affected his academic performance in a regular school that did not have activities to meet his specific needs. Once he joined Ibn Al-Khateeb Primary School, which had started implementing the Inclusive Education programme, Mohammed flourished. Not only did he start doing better at school but, with the encouragement of his teachers, he is overcoming his shyness by reciting his favorite poems in front of the class. Mohammed is much more confident today and happily shares the news that he will be opening the celebrations for the International Day for Persons with Disabilities at his school with a specially written speech and a poem recital.
